Are they macro shots of human veins? Or dried-out twigs? Or merely "gesturally" drawn drawings in mostly opulent colors? Or cerebral CT scans of synaptic energies? Or even cosmic radiation phenomena? At first glance, Ernest A. Kienzl's current series "found abstracts: cracks" inspires a wide variety of associations, ranging from representational and concrete to abstract and gestural.
